Express Eventing 20th September 2009.
All participants must hold AIRC 2009 membership cards.
The event will be run under AIRC rules.
Dressage: Each rider will have three minutes for their test. The first movement of the test will be to ride down the centre line from A to X. X halt and salute and while at X the music and the clock will start. Penalty points of one point per second will be awarded to riders whose time exceeds three minutes ten seconds or whose time is less than two minutes fifty seconds. The final movement of the test will require the rider to halt and salute at G and at this point the clock stops. Other than the first and final movement, all other movements may be demonstrated in whatever order suits the competitor. Penalty points will be allocated for additional unspecified movements in the test. Please remember to bring your music with you on the day, preferably on a CD, and make sure your CD is clearly marked. As you introduce yourself to the dressage judge, hand your music to the delegate in charge of music and state the number of the required track. On completion of your test you may collect your music from the delegate.
Show-jumping and Cross -country: The clock starts once the competitor passes the start point on the show-jumping course. On completion of the show-jumping course the competitor enters the pocket, dismounts and changes from show-jumping gear into cross country gear, re-mounts and continues out on to the cross-country course. All the while the clock keeps running. The clock stops when the competitor passes the finishing point on the cross-country course.
Each competitor may have a maximum of two helpers to offer assistance in the pocket. To keep everything fair, on completion of the show-jumping the competitor will dismount, remove his/her number, jacket and back protector and change into cross-country colours, back into the back-protector and number prior to re-mounting. As in all eventing, arm bands must be worn.
Please remember to bring your number bib. Thank you.
Please remember to bring your signed entry form and fee on the day.
Thank you.
